Our Neighborhood

Hagley Estates is located just 25 miles south of Myrtle Beach and only 10 miles north of the lovely seaport city of Georgetown.  Hagley Estates is known for its natural beauty, which includes plenty of mature oaks and pines with lush greenery and wildlife.  Golf enthusiasts love the Pawleys Island life and enjoy the Founders Club golf course which abuts Hagley Estates.  The boat landing and launch on the Waccama River has access to the intracoastal waterway so it is very close to the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean.  Unlike most communities in the Pawleys Island area, Hagley Estates is not a gated community.

Hagley Estates Property Owner's Association

Hagley Estates is a voluntary POA.  If you would like to join HEPOA please contact Tom Stickler.  Hagley offers a reduced cable rate for joining our POA.

Our Rich Southern History

The land of Hagley Estates first emerged from a wilderness of cypress and yellow pine toward the end of the 18th century, as planters cleared the land for the rice cultivation that dominated agriculture along the Tidal Rivers of South Carolina until after the Civil War.   After the Confederate War and the War of Northern Aggression, Hagley Landing was one of numerous area plantations that struggled mightily to overcome the disastrous fall-out of a war that changed the course of history.  Here, as elsewhere, many a man went off to fight for the Confederate cause.  Some returned, some did not.  Some say there are ghosts on Hagley Landing and a Love Triangle that will haunt you.
